The English translation of "Dún ár Rúin"
is "Our Secret Fortress".
Dun Ar Ruin, Duncannon, Co Wexford, in the South East of Ireland, is a very nice, private, spacious & comfortable Irish holiday cottage in grounds of 1.5 acres. It is on the edge of a seaside fishing village and has panoramic views. There is a Martello Tower in the garden. The holiday cottage is registered in Ireland with the Hook Tourist Board.

The accommodation consists of 3 bedrooms (sleeps 6), a Living Room with a wood burning stove and a TV, a separate Dining Room, a Conservatory, a large walk-in powered shower, two toilets. There is oil-fired central heating. The kitchen is fully fitted and has a dishwasher and a microwave. There is a washing machine and a tumble dryer in the utility room. Bed linen and bath towels are supplied. A cot can be provided. Pets may be permitted.

The stonewalled avenue to the cottage is 200 yards long. The village is 300 yards away. The Blue Flag, flat, sandy beach is 1 mile long and is beside the village, 5 minutes walk away. There are many sport, leisure and places of interest nearby. There are 11 excellent golf courses within a radius of 25 miles. In the area there are a number of pubs and restaurants that provide good wholesome, inexpensive lunchtime meals.

Our names are Catherine and Brendan O'Connor - we own this Irish holiday cottage (our former home) and live nearby. Our rates are cheaper than those for lesser properties in the area. We aim to give value for money and will do what we can to make your holiday in Ireland pleasant and enjoyable.

We have arranged a 15% discount for our customers with Stena Line Ferries. The ferry from Fishguard to Rosslare, Ireland takes 3 hours 15 minutes. The Fast Ferry takes 99 minutes. The drive from the port to Duncannon takes less than 40 minutes.
