From
our Irish holiday cottage there are panoramic views of the Atlantic,
the Hook Lighthouse and the entrance to Waterford Harbour. The cottage
was built in 1955 and has recently been modernised and improved. It
has oil-fired central heating. It is a warm, comfortable well-appointed
house. |

The cottage is situated within the grounds
of a Martello Tower. There are lockable gates at the end of the avenue making
the cottage secluded. The gardens surrounding the cottage are presently laid as
lawns and are fully enclosed by 200 year old stone walls, making them safe for
children. The site is surrounded by farmland. The sunsets and the moonlight on
the water can be spectacular. With binoculars you can see the detail of passing
ships and boats. Pilots can often be seen boarding the ships from their small
boats in order to guide them to Waterford and New Ross. On a clear day the Comeragh
Mountains in Co Waterford can be seen in the distance.
